Spirax Sarco AEL6 Series Smart Electric Actuator is a reversible actuator with linear output characteristics, designed specifically for DN15 to DN100 control valves. This series is compatible with multiple power inputs and control signals, and can be paired with various valves including SPIRA-TROL series two-way valves and QL33/QL43/QL63/QL73 series three-way valves through different mounting flanges and valve adapters, widely used in industrial fluid control applications.

Selection Guide

Selection Principles

1. Determine the required valve model and stem packing type (PTFE or Graphite)
2. In the corresponding selection table, find the parameter column that meets the actual maximum operating pressure (including transient pressure)
3. Read horizontally to the left to determine the matching actuator model
4. If actual conditions exceed the table range, contact Spirax Sarco technical support

Shut-off Class

• Class IV Shut-off: Meets BS 5793-4 (IEC 60534-4) Class IV standard requirements
• Class VI Shut-off (Soft Seal): Meets BS 5793-4 (IEC 60534-4) Class VI standard requirements

In pure control applications, the actuator can provide control throughout the valve's working range, but does not guarantee a higher shut-off class compared to the minimum flow at 50:1 rangeability.

Speed Selection Tips

AEL6321 and AEL6323 actuators have the same maximum shut-off differential pressure values but different operating speeds (0.9mm/s vs 4.5mm/s); the same applies to AEL6421 and AEL6422 (0.7mm/s vs 1.7mm/s). Confirm based on speed requirements during selection.

Installation Instructions

Installation Notes

• Valves should be installed on horizontal pipelines; actuator mounting position should be determined based on valve type and medium temperature
• Actuator installation deviating more than 90 degrees from vertical is not recommended
• Avoid installing actuators in humid environments; outdoor installations require additional protection

Installation Procedure

1. Select the appropriate mounting flange and valve adapter based on valve model and size (refer to accessory tables)
2. Following the installation manual, secure the actuator to the valve through the flange and adapter, ensuring a firm connection
3. Connect power supply and control signal wiring, ensuring compliance with electrical specifications
4. After installation, complete stroke and torque parameter calibration using the actuator's auto-calibration function
