Product Overview
Spirax Sarco BRV2S and BRV2B series are direct acting pressure reducing valves, specifically designed for steam, compressed air, and other gas media, featuring ductile iron bodies with robust and durable construction, suitable for various industrial applications. The products provide both flange and threaded connection options to meet different pipeline installation requirements, while offering multiple downstream set pressure ranges, distinguished by color-coded plates for easy identification and selection.
The products fully comply with the European Pressure Equipment Directive 97/23/EC, can be equipped with CE marking as required, and are supplied with manufacturer's typical test certificate (special certificates and test requirements must be specified in the order). With precise pressure control performance and stable operation, they are widely used in various industrial gas transmission systems.
Pressure Range Description
Downstream set pressure ranges are distinguished by color-coded plates. When selecting, if pressure ranges overlap, it is recommended to use the lower range spring for better control:

Sizing Chart Usage Instructions
- Curves numbered 2, 3, 4, 5, etc. in the chart represent upstream pressure, and the vertical line on the left represents downstream pressure.
- Example: If the pressure reducing valve flow requirement is 120kg/h, reducing from 8bar g to 6bar g, follow the downstream pressure 6bar g horizontally to the right, intersect with the upstream pressure 8bar g curve, then vertically downward to confirm that DN15 (½") BRV2 series products meet the requirement.
Installation and Safety Information
Installation Instructions
- Install the pressure reducing valve on a horizontal pipeline according to the flow direction arrow on the valve body.
- For BRV2SP/BRV2BP models using external sensing tube, remove the plug (16), install the 6mm O/D compression fitting (17), and the other end of the sensing tube should be installed on the pipeline at least 1m downstream from the valve.
