BURKERT 20068000 Type 8647 AirLINE SP Valve Island

Burkert 20068000 Type 8647 AirLINE SP is a modular, electropneumatic automation system consisting of connection and valve modules. It has been especially developed for safe and complete integration into the decentralised peripheral system “SIMATIC ET 200SP” and “SIMATIC ET 200SP HA" from Siemens. Pneumatically operated process valves, pneumatic cylinders or other pneumatic components can be connected to the pneumatic outputs. If the pneumatic components are installed with position feedbacks, the position of the actuated pneumatic components can be displayed on the associated pilot valve. This can save time on start-up and maintenance.

System Overview

Combining modules from the distributed Siemens I/O systems SIMATIC ET 200SP/SP HA with the valve block AirLINE SP Type 8647 provides an integrated system of electronic and pneumatic components.

Connection Units

The pneumatic supply and deaeration of the valve block occurs via connection units. Furthermore, the valve block is fixed to the standard rail via the connection units. Connection units can be optionally equipped with a pressure gauge or electronic pressure sensor.

Valve Units

Valve units convert the electrical control signals of the interface module into pneumatic output signals and provide the pneumatic outputs. There are valve units with four valve slots (4-slot valve unit) or with eight valve slots (8-slot valve unit).

Solenoid Valves Type 6524 and Type 6525

  • The pilot valve Type 6524 (single and double valve) and Type 6525 (single valve) consist of a pilot flipper solenoid valve Type 6144 and a pneumatic seat valve.
  • The circuit function allows switching of high pressures with low power consumption and short switching times.
  • The pilot valves are equipped with a manual override as standard.

Solenoid Valves Type 0460

  • The solenoid valve Type 0460 consists of a pneumatic valve body fitted with a double coil pilot valve.
  • The principle allows switching of high pressures together with low power consumption and fast switching times.
  • All valves are equipped with manual override as a standard.

AirLINE Quick

AirLINE Quick considerably reduces the use of components in the control cabinet. With the AirLINE Quick Adapter, the valve terminal is adapted directly to the control cabinet floor or control cabinet wall.

Advantages:

  • Reduced space requirement in the control cabinet
  • This makes it possible to use more compact control cabinets
  • Reduced installation effort due to hose connections directly at the bottom of the control cabinet

Safety Instructions

  • Risk of injury from high pressure: Suddenly escaping pressure medium can quickly accelerate device components resulting in injuries and/or damage. Before working on the device or system, switch off the pressure. Vent or drain lines.
  • Risk of injury due to electric shock: Before working on the device or system, switch off the power supply. Secure against reactivation.
  • Risk of injury due to unintentional activation: Secure the device and system to prevent unintentional activation. Ensure that the system does not start up in an uncontrolled manner.

Electrostatic Sensitive Components

The device contains electronic components which react sensitively to electrostatic discharge (ESD). Contact with electrostatically charged persons or objects are hazardous to these components. To minimize or eliminate the risk of damage, ensure compliance with the requirements of EN 61340-5-1. Do not touch electronic components while the supply voltage is switched on!

Installation Notes

  • External-Valve-Shut-off function (EVS function): the switching contact must be located in the same control cabinet as the valve block. The line length must be limited to a maximum of 2 m.
  • The Hot Swap function of the individual valves cannot be combined with the ATEX/IECEx-Ex approval.
  • The valve block must be freely accessible from above. When installing the standard rail in the control cabinet, note that the valve block requires a minimum clearance of 5 cm to the upper edge of the control cabinet. If the device contains electronic base modules with EVS function, a minimum clearance of 8 cm to the upper edge of the control cabinet is recommendable.
