BURKERT 20051124 Type 2104 Diaphragm T-Valve with Pneumatic Actuator

BURKERT Type 2104 pneumatic diaphragm T-valve in stainless steel. Features 0-10 bar pressure range, -5 to 143 °C temp range, and ATEX/FDA/3-A approvals for hygienic applications.

BURKERT 20051124 Type 2104 Diaphragm T-Valve with Pneumatic Actuator

BURKERT Type 2104 is an externally controlled diaphragm T-valve consisting of a pneumatically operated piston actuator, a diaphragm, and a T-valve body. The proven and robust actuator with a stainless steel housing ensures reliable use in hygienic or aggressive ambient conditions. The flow-efficient valve bodies with minimal dead space enable high flow rates and a wide range of possible uses. The actuator features a compact, autoclavable design with gap-free seals, making it highly suitable for decentralised automation in the food, beverage, biotechnology, and pharmaceutical industries.

It is a highly integrated system consisting of a valve and an automation unit with integrated pilot air ducts (no intake of ambient air). The integration of automation units Type ELEMENT is possible in all configuration levels, and a fieldbus interface can also be integrated. The valve offers IP65/67 and NEMA Type 4X protection degrees and displays high chemical resistance.

Control Functions

  • Control function A (CF A): Pneumatically operated T-valve. Normally closed by spring force.
  • Control function B (CF B): Pneumatically operated T-valve. Normally opened by spring force.
  • Control function I (CF I): Pneumatically operated T-valve on either side. Switching position dependent on external control.

Installation Notes

TIP

For pipelines, the inclination angles specified in the valid ASME BPE standard are recommended. The device and relief bore must be accessible for inspection and maintenance. One of the relief bores in the diaphragm bonnet for monitoring leakages must be at the lowest position.

DANGER

Damage to the diaphragm or the actuator during welding: The diaphragm and actuator can be damaged when welding the valve body into the pipeline. In the case of devices with a welded connection, remove the actuator and diaphragm from the valve body before installation.

Maintenance and Inspection

The device actuator is maintenance-free if the instructions in the operating instructions are followed. Components subject to natural wear are seals and the diaphragm.

Inspection intervals:

  • After the first steam sterilisation and when required: Tighten the body screws crosswise.
  • After 10^5 switching cycles at the latest: Check the diaphragm for wear.
  • Shortened inspection intervals are required for muddy and abrasive media.
