Yoshitake PG-2 Pressure Gauge - Stainless Steel Bourdon Tube

The Yoshitake PG-2 is a pressure gauge featuring a structure that transmits the elastic deformation of the Bourdon tube to the pointer. Constructed with a stainless steel case, Bourdon tube, and spanner flats, it offers excellent corrosion resistance. The PG-2 is suitable for steam, air, gas, and liquid applications, providing reliable pressure measurement across various industrial systems.

Delivery, Storage and Installation

Delivery and Storage

  1. During delivery, avoid adding vibration to the product as much as possible. Be sure to avoid hitting the product on the wall or dropping it. Failure to follow this notice may make the product unusable.
  2. Store the product in a place where there is little dust, vibration, and humidity. Also, select a place with as little temperature change as possible because the product can form dew in a place with large temperature changes.

Installation Warnings

If the product is used on a line with a high frequency of pressure fluctuation, it will cause the product to malfunction. Please take measures before applying pressure fluctuation directly to the pressure gauge.

Installation Cautions

  1. Vertical Installation: Install the product so that the scale plate is vertical. If not vertical, an accidental error can be made.
  2. Head Difference: In the case of liquid measurement, if there is a head difference between the pressure pick-up port and the pressure gauge, accuracy is influenced. For example, to measure water pressure, if installing a pressure gauge of pressure range 0 to 0.1 MPa on a place 1 m higher than the pressure pick-up port, the reading is the value of actual pressure minus 0.01 MPa. This difference is equivalent to 10% of all scale range. Conversely, if installing it 1 m lower, the reading is the value of actual pressure plus 10%.

  1. Temperature Exposure: Avoid using the product at a place where it is exposed to high temperature. If necessary, prevent the product from being exposed to heat directly by using a closure plate, etc.
  2. Siphon Tube: If the fluid temperature to measure exceeds the max. temperature, mount a siphon tube to the product to reduce the fluid temperature. Be sure to inject water into the siphon tube to protect the product.
  3. Vibration: Avoid using the product at a place where much vibration occurs.
  4. Pulsation: If the fluid has pulsation, use a dampener to install the product. To adjust the dampener, close it fully at once, then adjust it by opening little by little. Do not tighten the product enough to stop the pointer swinging completely; adjust to the extent that the pointer swing remains slightly.
  5. Tools: To install the product, be sure to apply an appropriate tool such as a spanner to the hexagonal part and tighten it. Be sure to avoid screwing the product by holding the product case.
  6. Piping Cleanliness: Before installing the product, be sure to remove foreign substances and scale from the piping. During installation, prevent foreign substances from flowing into the piping, such as packing, seal tape, liquid seal agent, etc.

Operation

Operation Warnings

  1. Do not apply pressure more than the maximum pressure to the product. If the Bourdon tube is broken, it may lead to injury or damage to the surroundings.
  2. Use the product within the usable temperature range. If using the product out of the usable temperature range, the product may be broken and lead to injury or damage to the surroundings.
  3. Do not use the product for fluids with corrosive properties for the wetted part material of the product. If the Bourdon tube is broken due to corrosion, it may lead to human injury or damages to the surroundings.

Operation Cautions

  1. Make the using pressure be in the range of 25 – 75 % of the maximum scale.
  2. Do not disassemble the product. It will cause product malfunction.

Troubleshooting

TroubleCauseRemedy
Pointer does not work.1. Pressure is not applied.
2. Piping is clogged by foreign substance.
1. Apply pressure.
2. Remove foreign substance.
Accidental error is large.1. Fluid exceeds usable temperature range.
2. Head difference due to difference of height.
3. Abrasion of internal structure due to heavy vibration or pressure fluctuation.
1. Lower temperature.
2. Correct the head.
3. Replace with a new one.
Response is slow.1. Too much tightening of dampener.
2. Piping is too thin for viscosity of fluid.
1. Make appropriate tightening.
2. Make the piping thick.
Pointer does not point zero when the product is removed from piping.1. Deformation of bourdon tube due to over pressure.
2. Clogging of foreign substance in fluid.
3. Abrasion of internal structure due to heavy vibration or pressure fluctuation.
1. Replace with a new one.
2. Remove foreign substance.
3. Replace with a new one.
Off the scale1. Deformation of bourdon tube due to over pressure.
2. Gap of pointer and deformation of bourdon tube due to impact.
1. Replace with a new one.
2. Replace with a new one.

Maintenance and Inspection

Maintenance Warnings

  1. To remove the product, be sure to make the pressure zero (atmospheric pressure) and then remove the product carefully. Failure to follow this notice may cause a blowout of internal fluid and lead to scalds or injury.
  2. If the fluid is at a high temperature, do not touch the product directly with bare hands. Failure to follow this notice may lead to scalds or injury.
  3. If glass crack or deterioration is found, be sure to replace the product with a new one.

Maintenance Cautions

  1. Regardless of regulation by law, conduct maintenance and inspection once or more per year periodically. Remove the product from the site and check it with pressure standards.
  2. The product cannot be repaired or calibrated. If an abnormality is found, replace the product with a new one.
