Yoshitake MD-71 Emergency Shut-off Valve System

Yoshitake MD-71 emergency shut-off system is designed to secure water for living in receiving tanks and high placement tanks in the event of an earthquake. Comprising the MD-71 emergency shut-off valve and the KS-5 control panel, the system automatically closes the valve when the integrated earthquake sensor detects a tremor of 200 Gal or higher. This prevents the loss of precious water due to damaged piping and secures vital resources following a disaster.

Features

  • An earthquake sensor (acceleration: 200 Gal) is installed inside the control console that automatically works in case of an earthquake.
  • The control console properly works with the backup power source (approx. 5 hours) even in case of a power failure.
  • The pump instantly stops when the shut-off valves close (requires wiring between the interlock terminal of the control console and the pump).
  • Resetting after a shut-off valve control is easy with a pushbutton switch.
  • The control console can be manually operated in case of necessity.

Storage Battery Replacement

Replace the storage battery cells every three years. If they are not replaced, the unit can possibly fail in starting up in the case of a power failure.
