BURKERT 20126190 Type 8647 AirLINE SP Valve Island

BURKERT 20126190 Type 8647 AirLINE SP electropneumatic automation system. Integrates with Siemens SIMATIC ET 200SP, featuring LC display and safety-related shut-off.

BURKERT 20126190 Type 8647 AirLINE SP Valve Island

BURKERT 20126190 Type 8647 AirLINE SP is a modular, electropneumatic automation system consisting of connection and valve modules. It has been especially developed for safe and complete integration into the decentralised peripheral system "SIMATIC ET 200SP" and "SIMATIC ET 200SP HA" from Siemens. Pneumatically operated process valves, pneumatic cylinders, or other pneumatic components can be connected to the pneumatic outputs. If the pneumatic components are installed with position feedbacks, the position of the actuated pneumatic components can be displayed on the associated pilot valve, saving time on start-up and maintenance.

System Overview

Combining modules from the distributed Siemens I/O systems SIMATIC ET 200SP/SP HA with the valve block AirLINE SP Type 8647 provides an integrated system of electronic and pneumatic components. Depending on the requirement, electrical and pneumatic modules with various functions can be combined with each other.

BURKERT 20126190 Type 8647 system overview with Siemens integration

The valve block and the electronic modules of SIMATIC ET 200SP/SIMATIC ET 200SP HA provide numerous features, e.g., extensive configuration options or diagnostics capabilities. Optionally, valve groups can be switched off by an external, potential-free switching contact. It is then easy to implement control concepts, e.g., "Central system off".

Key Advantages

  • Direct connection to the I/O systems SIMATIC ET 200SP and SIMATIC ET 200SP HA
  • Integration in Siemens PCS7 possible
  • Easy diagnostics by LC display
  • Safety-related shut-off of valves possible

Circuit Functions

The Type 8647 valve island supports various standard circuit functions depending on the integrated pilot valves:

  • Circuit function C (CF C): 3/2-way solenoid valve, servo-controlled, normally closed.
  • Circuit function D (CF D): 3/2-way solenoid valve, servo-controlled, normally open.
  • Circuit function H (CF H): 5/2-way solenoid valve, servo-controlled.
  • Circuit function L (CF L): 5/3-way solenoid valve, in middle position all ports locked.
  • Circuit function N (CF N): 5/3-way solenoid valve, in middle position ports 2 and 4 exhausted.
  • Circuit function Z (CF Z): 5/2-way solenoid valve, impulse variant with 2 coils.

Approvals and Conformities

  • Explosion Protection: Optional ATEX / IECEx approval. As a category 3 device suitable for zone 2 (Ex ec IIC T4 Gc).
  • North America: Optional UL Listed for the USA and Canada according to UL 61010-1 and CAN/CSA-C22.2 No. 61010-1.

Safety-related applications

The electrical shutdown of valve Types 6524 and 6525 causes them to return to the rest position. To avoid brief back pressures in the event of a safety shutdown, the use of valve blocks with integrated check valves is strongly recommended. Using manual override to operate valves overrides the electrical shutdown.
