BURKERT 20114573 8652 AirLINE Valve Island

BURKERT 8652 AirLINE valve island optimized for process automation. Features up to 24 valve slots, AirLINE Quick adapter, PROFINET S2, and ATEX/IECEx Zone 2 approvals.

BURKERT 20114573 8652 AirLINE Valve Island

BURKERT 8652 AirLINE valve island has been developed for process automation requirements. Diagnostic functions can be visualised on the LC display in clear text and symbols, simplifying the assignment of messages and saving time during start-up and maintenance. Diagnostic messages are also available at the controller, enabling a fast overview of the plant status. The hardware is optimised for installation at the bottom of the control cabinet, and installation on a standard rail is also supported. Key pneumatic functions ensure increased process reliability; check valves in the exhaust air ducts prevent unplanned actuation due to pressure peaks.

AirLINE Quick

AirLINE Quick considerably reduces the use of components in the control cabinet. With the AirLINE Quick Adapter, the valve terminal is adapted directly to the control cabinet floor or wall.

Advantages:

  • Reduced space requirement in the control cabinet.
  • Enables the use of more compact control cabinets.
  • Reduced installation effort due to hose connections directly at the bottom of the control cabinet.

Circuit Functions

Circuit functionDescription
C (CF C)3/2-way solenoid valve, servo-controlled, normally closed
C (CF C) 2x2 × 3/2-way solenoid valve, servo-controlled, normally closed
D (CF D) 2x2 × 3/2-way solenoid valve, servo-controlled, normally open
H (CF H)5/2-way solenoid valve, servo-controlled. Pressure applied via port (1), therefore one of the two ports (2) or (4) is under pressure.
L (CF L)5/3-way solenoid valve. In middle position all ports locked.
M (CF M)5/3-way solenoid valve, servo-controlled. In middle position ports 2 and 4 ventilated.
N (CF N)5/3-way solenoid valve. In middle position ports 2 and 4 exhausted.
Z (CF Z)5/2-way solenoid valve. Impulse variant with 2 coils.

SIA Variant (for safety-related shut-off)

SIA variants are available for circuit functions C, 2xC, H, and L. These servo-controlled valves do not require manual override and allow a valve circuit to be interrupted by an external switch.

Product Installation

To use the Hot Swap function, always observe a minimum distance to the front edge of the control cabinet when installing the valve island inside the control cabinet.

Product Design and Assembly

BURKERT 20114573 BURKERT 8652 interface plate 24V without modular shut-off

Electronic module with digital inputs (optional)

The digital inputs are supplied (24 V) by the electronic module. Current is limited to maximum 30 mA per digital input. Standard 3-wire sensors and 2-wire sensors with voltages between 10…30 V as well as mechanical limit switches can be used.

Type 6534 valves are equipped with additional connection terminals. A valve circuit can therefore be interrupted by an external switch. Manual override is not required for these valve variants. To use the shut-off function, connect the terminal to a potential-free contact (mechanical switch or relay).

Safety Instructions for EX Areas

Danger from electrical voltage and electrostatic charge

  • Before working on the device or system, switch off the power supply and secure against reactivation.
  • In an existing explosive atmosphere, the connection terminals for 24 V power supply, SIA, EVS, and digital inputs may only be plugged in or unplugged when the power is switched off.
  • The use of the Hot Swap function is prohibited in an existing explosive atmosphere.
  • Take suitable measures to ensure that no electrostatic charge can build up in the potentially explosive area. Clean the device surface only by wiping it gently with a damp or antistatic cloth.
